Artful Dodgers

I joined the group in 2014 after the first New Malden exhibition. I am interested in capturing mood and light effects and work mainly in oil but also watercolours and printing. This painting is inspired by Rembrandt’s technique of building up paintings through multiple layers. I have tried to instil a feeling of age with the calmness of a contemplative medieval monk although in reality it is based on an organist at a recent Christmas carol concert.
