Artful Dodgers

Matthew is trying to live up to the rest of his arty family by painting in watercolour, mostly en plein air, but also studio works.  He tries hard to keep a sketchbook with him at all times, and to remember to simplify, simplify, simplify while sketching – and sometimes this works!

He aims to produce work that is representational to a degree, but with enough freedom to create some interesting images.  He is happy to tackle any subject – landscape, life drawing, still life, and in most media, though with varied success: his core interest though is watercolour landscapes.
